| The versatility of Aikona flooring is shown with the development of the Aikona edging section. This section has been specially designed for steps, edging or skirting boards and is currently available in a 74mm wide standard plain plank and a heavy duty 125mm plain plank. | Aikona Commercial Marine Specified on Cruise Liner | |
| The new Lloyd’s Register certificated product has already opened the door to new market opportunities for external application in the commercial marine sector. Aikona Commercial Marine has been specified for the refurbishment of a German operator’s cruise liner fleet. Aikona will be installed externally in the first class section near the swimming pool area where it will create a luxurious teak effect without the drawbacks of real wood. | Successful Test in Italy | |
| Once again Aikona decking has been put through some strict testing, this time in Genoa, Italy. As the photos below show various substances were left to dry in direct sunlight (tomato, sun cream, olive oil, coffee, red wine, orange juice, strawberry juice, cigarette burn, neat chlorine). Test areas were later scrubbed clean with soap and water and the results were excellent as the photo below shows: 10.04.2007 | |
| The advantages of maintaining Aikona | |
| These tests reinforce the claim that Aikona is easier to maintain than natural wood flooring. More stubborn stains can be sanded out and Aikona has a special repair kit for more serious surface damage, such as a deep cigarette burns.
